Terms of service

Last updated October 9, 2026

These terms cover all services, websites, applications, and infrastructure offered under the Proxbyte name, including the Proxbyte website, Proxbyte Auth at auth.proxbyte.online, and Proxbyte Git at git.proxbyte.online. A service may publish additional terms that apply specifically to it. By creating an account or using these services, you agree to these terms. Proxbyte is operated by the Proxbyte administrator, who can be contacted at liam@proxbyte.online.

Your account

Provide an email address you control and keep your passwords, recovery information, SSH keys, and application credentials secure. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone has accessed it without permission.

Use the services only if you can legally agree to these terms, or have the permission required by the laws that apply to you.

Semi-private access to Proxbyte Git

Proxbyte Git is a semi-private service for approved Proxbyte projects and collaborators. Public Git registration and automatic Git account creation through external sign-in are disabled. A Proxbyte administrator must approve access and create each Git account. Contact liam@proxbyte.online to request access.

Repository visibility is managed by administrators and project owners. Having a Proxbyte Auth account does not create an entitlement to a Git account, private repositories, or continued access. A repository’s visibility depends on its configured permissions.

Use the services responsibly

Do not use Proxbyte for unlawful activity, fraud, harassment, impersonation, spam, malware distribution, or content you do not have the right to share. Do not attempt to access another person’s private data, bypass access controls, disrupt the services, or overload infrastructure.

Report security problems privately to liam@proxbyte.online. Testing that accesses other people’s information or disrupts the service requires prior permission.

Ownership of Proxbyte

Proxbyte owns its branding, logos, original website content, and original software to the extent those rights belong to Proxbyte. Proxbyte controls the operation of its services and infrastructure. Using a service does not give you ownership of Proxbyte or a right to operate its servers, use its branding, or demand that a service remain available.

Third-party software, including Gitea and other open-source components, remains subject to its owners’ rights and applicable licenses. These terms do not remove permissions granted by those licenses or transfer ownership of other people’s work to Proxbyte.

Your code and content

You keep your rights to the repositories, code, images, and other content you submit. You give Proxbyte permission to store, process, display, and transmit that content as needed to provide the features you use and operate the service.

Public repositories and contributions can be viewed and copied by other people. Private content is restricted by the service’s access controls, with administrator access where needed to operate, secure, or support the service. Choose appropriate repository permissions and licenses, and keep your own backups. Do not commit passwords, API keys, or other secrets.

Proxbyte Auth and connected apps

Proxbyte Auth lets you approve sign-in to connected apps. Read the approval screen and the app’s own terms and privacy policy before continuing. Those apps are operated separately and may keep their own accounts, data, and login sessions.

App owners must register accurate callback URLs and domains, keep client secrets private, and use the connection only for its stated purpose. An app must provide both a privacy policy and terms of service before it can complete more than 10 Proxbyte sign-ins. Do not misrepresent an app’s identity or collect credentials through misleading sign-in pages.

Revoking Proxbyte tokens prevents their further use through Proxbyte; it does not necessarily end a connected app’s own session or delete information that app already received.

Availability, shutdowns, and compensation

All Proxbyte services are provided as available. There is no guaranteed uptime, minimum operating period, continued feature availability, data recovery, or backup service unless separately agreed in writing. Keep independent copies of important code and information and plan for sign-in or hosting to become unavailable.

At our discretion, we may change, restrict, suspend, switch off, or permanently discontinue any feature, server, or service, including all Proxbyte services, at any time. Reasons may include cost, maintenance, security, abuse, legal requirements, or a decision to stop operating. We will try to give notice when practical, but do not guarantee advance notice, particularly for urgent or security-related action.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Proxbyte will not provide compensation, service credits, or reimbursement for downtime, interruptions, shutdowns, lost access, or discontinuation. No compensation or refund is promised for a free service. Any mandatory refund rights, non-excludable legal rights, and obligations in a separate paid agreement still apply.

We may restrict or suspend individual accounts to address abuse, security problems, legal obligations, or violations of these terms. Contact us if you believe a restriction is mistaken.

Pricing and paid services

A service being free today is not a promise that it will remain free. Proxbyte may introduce fees, change pricing, add paid plans, or move features behind a paid plan at any time. Future access may depend on selecting and paying for an available plan.

We will disclose the price, billing terms, and any applicable paid-service conditions before you agree to pay. Creating a free account does not authorize us to charge you automatically. You may choose not to purchase a paid plan and stop using the affected features. Existing paid commitments and rights required by applicable law continue to apply.

Leaving and deletion requests

You can stop using Proxbyte at any time. Use the available controls to remove repositories, applications, or sessions, and email liam@proxbyte.online for account closure or data requests. We may need to verify your identity. Public Git history, copies held by other people, legally required records, and existing backups may remain as described in the privacy policy.

Responsibility, warranties, and liability

You are responsible for your content, your use of connected apps, the permissions you grant, and your own backups and recovery plans. Proxbyte is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and do not promise uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure service.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Proxbyte is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses, including lost profits, lost opportunities, lost data, or interruption of business arising from the services or their unavailability. Nothing in these terms excludes liability, mandatory consumer remedies, or other rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Updates and contact

We will publish changes here with an updated date. Material changes may also be announced through the services or by email where appropriate. Contact liam@proxbyte.online with questions about these terms, abuse reports, or account problems.
